An article in one of the leading English Newspapers.
While all the local Marathi Newspapers covered the football matches well since the time the Khare's arrived in India way back in 1985, the English Newspapers were lagging behind. On top of it all, Women's football was unheard of. KFANDRA is proud to say that it tried to educate its players on playing exciting and quality football, including the girls. The Women's team took Pune by storm and even reached the Final of, what was only realized later, a 'fake' Nationals State tournament, but that's another story. This group of players were the 2nd or 3rd generation of players to cross the KFANDRA threshold. Most of the same group of players and another new lot of players also put Women's Rugby on the map by playing the first ever Women's 15's match in India. (Far too many stories to write about here).
Back to the Newspapers and unfortunately, with the sudden influence of football leagues outside of India, the Indian Newspapers and local ones too, have decided not to cover the game much.
The coverage back in those days, which included some bits on the radio, from the 80's to around the late 2000, was quite creditable.
Reporters actually came to the matches to see for themselves and do the reporting. Later on, certain people used to visit the the Newspaper office and hand over a pre-written write-up!
Many more clippings coming up on this page and more in the 'Memoirs' as well!

KFANDRA was massive!
And amazingly, money was never the be all and end all of KFANDRA.
There were many kids and adults that didn't pay the negligible amount that was charged to play 7 days a week for around 2 hours and sometimes more.
What has always been the core of everything at KFANDRA, is the philosophy.
That without the opportunity to have a laugh, how's it possible to be serious all the time?
An Annual Function was a chance to get the entire wide ranging group of players together, to bond and interact without having to
rush off to train or do some drill because the Khare's are screaming their heads of at you for not being committed enough.
Just a thought, if there is a ground somewhere near where you stay, what are the possibilities that KFANDRA will
restart its evening sessions once again? (24/05/22)

Articles were a regular occurrence! (June 2009)
Thanks to the reporter for covering KFANDRA well.
As you can see in the image, the players were allowed to wear a kit that wasn't KFANDRA approved. Those days were tough and money
was hard to come by for KFANDRA. The Bibs system was still a few years away.
February 9th 200?
KFANDRA initiated an organization that was headed by Mr. Surhud Khare that was to be the conduit through which passionate and committed rugby players in Pune, could one day play for their City and State.
PDRFA - Pune District Rugby Football Association.
For some reason, the word football had to be included as the word rugby couldn't be included in the name on its own.
Weirder and weirder!
